ABE: The North West’s Favourite?

Applied Nutrition ABE pre-workout is a favourite amongst many gym goers and pre-workout lovers. It delivers a unique blend of the most vital and researched compounds known to help accomplish the following:

  • Elevated physical performance
  • Reduce tiredness & fatigue
  • Sharp mental alertness

The following are the ingredients within the product:

Citrulline Malate

Citrulline is an amino acid that believe it or not was found within watermelons.

It is classed as a nonessential amino acid because the body can actually produce it on its own in small amount.

Citrulline hosts a ton of benefits when it comes to supplementing with it. It can help widen blood vessels through elevating nitric oxide production and rid your body of harmful compounds as it plays an important role in the urea cycle.

With all that being said, the form of citrulline used within this product is citrulline malate.

Citrulline malate combines the amino acid citrulline with malate or malic acid which is an organic salt, this is done to aid with the absorption of the citrulline.

Creatine Monohydrate

Creatine is a substance that can be found naturally within our muscle cells. Put simply,  It helps your muscles produce energy during heavy lifting or any form of high-intensity training.

Furthermore, creatine contributes to muscle gain, enhanced strength and improved exercise performance.

Beta-Alanine

Beta-alanine is an amino acid like l-citrulline, which is naturally produced by your body, and commonly found in various meats and fish.

This ingredient is arguably one of, if not the most common within pre-workout products. It is popular due to its ability to aid with performance and strength levels.

Beta alanine hosts a ton of benefits such as increasing the time to exhaustion (helping exercise for longer), increase muscular endurance and aid with body composition.

Taurine

L-taurine is a naturally occurring amino acid. It is found mainly in the heart and brain. It is also common among energy drinks as well as pre-workouts.

Taurine contains properties that assist in the regulation of muscular contraction and force during strength and aerobic activity.

Taurine acts to increase muscle force production and enhance fatigue resistance from high intensity exercise by increasing the efficiency of the heart and maintaining cell volume.

Caffeine

Caffeine (when taking generously) acts as a powerful central nervous system stimulant. When it by passes the stomach, enters the blood then penetrates the blood brain barrier, the most noticeable effect is alertness and energy.

Caffeine also boosts epinephrine, dopamine and serotonin effectively. Users of caffeine have more energy, more alertness and much less fatigue.

TheaCrine

TheaCrine is an ingredient which is classed as a stimulant. It is very similar to caffeine in the way it works.

It increases mental focus, and improves mood. TheaCrine has energy boosting effects without jitters and crash.

My Personal Opinion

Applied Nutrition ABE has been on the market for quite some time now. For me personally, it ticks the correct boxes and always works effectively.

It gives me the tingles (from all that beta-alanine) and a solid surge of energy.

Yes, most of the time I do double scoop, but it never lets me down.
