GHOST Burn Powdered Fat Burner Review
Posted on 29 July 2019by
GHOST Burn has finally hit the UK! Originally released for the New Zealand and Australia market back in February 2019. The reason for the custom product is because powder supplements are easier to import into the country. Now, make no confusion about this, nothing in this is illegal for the countries, it is simply to make the process easier. So taking that into account, GHOST went to work.
So, just how effective is GHOST Burn, and is it worth buying? Let’s take a look into the formula. For the purpose of this breakdown, I will be basing it on the full recommended serving of two scoops.
A combination and fully disclosed blend of L-Carnitine Tartrate and Acetyl-L-Carnitine. Carnitine helps burn fat by transporting fatty acids into your cells' mitochondria, where it is burned off, producing energy.
Acetyl-L-Carnitine is a Carnitine form that anecdotally acts as stimulant, helping your focus. It is one of the most researched forms of carnitine, with the minimum dosage recommended at 650- 2,500mg. GHOST Burn contains 1,500mg of Acetyl-L-Carnitine.
The other form is L-Carnitine Tartrate, which has research showing physical performance enhancement and increased power output. It is easy to see how this can help with fat loss as it will help with performing cardio, as well as the increased energy we spoke about earlier.
There is at least one study that showed an increase in natural human growth hormone (hGH) when supplementing with L-Carnitine Tartrate. Granted the study used 2g per day, so we can’t really contribute those benefits to GGHOST Burn, but it is something to think about since an increase in hGH helps with fat loss/
The recommended serving for L-Carnitine Tartrate is 1,000-4,000mg. GHOST Burn contains 1,500mg.
Next up we have a form of choline in Choline Bitartrate. Choline is a molecule that helps reduce fatty liver buildup. It also has cognitive enhancing effects, helping the brain by boosting the learning neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
In terms of a choline source, Choline Bitartrate is sufficient for reducing fat levels in the liver, helping fat loss in that aspect.
The recommended dosage of choline for general health benefits is 250-500mg. Choline Bitartrate is 48% choline. GHOST Burn delivers 1,000mg, providing 480mg of choline.
Ah the highly popular form of Ashwagandha! I’m sure you’ve heard of this before, and if you haven’t, I highly recommend using it. Stress plays a huge impact in our lives with an estimated physical 77% of people suffering physical symptoms such as insomnia, headaches and low energy. Another 73% experience psychological symptoms such as no motivation, anxiety, low self-esteem and irritability. High stress levels increase the cortisol hormone, the main cause of these ailments.
Where does Ashwagandha come into it? It has been used for over 3,000 years to help relieve stress and support relaxation. Ashwagandha helps lower cortisol levels of cortisol. Research has shown that daily doses as low as 125mg have shown to lower cortisol levels by 11% and as high as 32% on higher dosing. The 600mg dosing routine of KSM-66 has also shown to increase testosterone in men by 15%, which shouldn't worry women as this effect will not happen in them and is 100% safe for women to use.
Other studies on ashwagandha have displayed a blood sugar lowering effect. Studies suggest that fat causes fat cells to release a pro-inflammatory chemical, making the body less sensitive to the insulin it produces, which in turn increases the amount of blood sugar circulating the body. Insulin is needed by the body’s cells to absorb glucose (sugar) from the blood stream and to be used up as energy. The higher your body fat, the more insulin resistance you likely have.
Now, why KSM-66 instead of other types of Ashwagandha out there? KSM-66 is the only ashwagandha root extract on the market that contains a guaranteed 5% withanolides, the active. It also uses a natural extraction process that maintains the balance of the various components in the ashwagandha plant as found in nature.
As stated earlier, the dosage for KSM-66 is 125mg-600mg. GHOST Burn contains the popular 600mg clinical dosage.
An amino acid that converts to substances like epinephrine, norepinephrine, and dopamine by the body. Theoretically L-Tyrosine may help speed metabolism and improve overall mood, an action of the converted compounds. It is quite a good ingredient for mental performance and alertness, helping with fatigue.
Tyrosine is usually best at 500-2,000mg. GHOST Burn contains 500mg.
I won’t say much about this since it is already widely known. Caffeine helps increase energy and thermogenesis. It can also suppress the appetite.
Doses vary from 100mg up to 600mg, with most studies using 3-6mg per kg of bodyweight. GHOST Burn has a strong 300mg of pure caffeine.
An ingredient standardised for 20% theobromine, the natural feel good alkaloid found in chocolate that gives you that euphoric feeling when you eat it, reducing hunger. It also has thermogenic properties, helping break down fat.
The dosage for Theobromine when taken solo starts from 50mg. GHOST Burn contains 20mg, however this has a synergistic effect with our next ingredient…
Extracted from coffee beans, NeuroFactor has clinically shown to increase Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) by 142%, a neuroprotein that plays a critical role in neuronal development, maintenance, repair, and protection against neuro-degeneration.
The synergy with Theobromine comes from both improving your mood via similar pathways. NeuroFactor helps since BDNF binds to receptors in the brain, involved in neurotransmitter signalling of GABA, increasing levels, promoting a positive and calming mood.
The clinical dose of NeuroFactor is 100mg. GHOST Burn contains 100mg.
Onto an ingredient many people confuse with it being a cardiovascular stimulant, when it actually isn’t since it only weakly activates alpha-1 and alpha-2 adrenoreceptors. Bitter Orange extract promotes fat loss by altering liver function in a way that it increases, energy production and regulates digestion.
This prevents the conversion of carbs into fats, increases fat oxidation and promotes glucose consumption by your muscles. You end up burning fat and fuelling your muscle fibres.
The typical dosage of Bitter Orange is 25-60mg. GHOST Burn contains 60mg.
GRAINS OF PARADISE
If you’ve been following T-Nutrition for a while, then you should know our next ingredient. Grains of Paradise is what is known as a Brown Adipose Tissue (BAT) activator.
Your body is predominantly made up of two types of storage fat, brown fat and white fat. If you look them both up under a microscope you would see that brown fat is broken up more into separate pieces. This makes it easier to be used by the body for energy. Grains of Paradise helps this breakdown of white fat, converting it to brown fat.
The dosage in the research uses 40mg. GHOST Burn contains 40mg.
Lastly you have an absorption enhancer, making all the above ingredients be used by your body as effectively as possible.
The dosage needed is 5mg. GHOST Burn contains 10mg.
That is the ingredient breakdown done. Now, taste! GHOST are known for their incredible flavours and this product is no exception. With the Warheads flavouring carrying on in Sour Watermelon and Sour Green Apple flavour, as well as GHOST’s own Mango flavouring, you have a nice selection to suit people’s needs.
In conclusion, GHOST Burn looks to be an effective fat burner and something the powdered fat burning category in the UK has needed for a while now. I highly recommend you give this powdered fat burner a try if you are looking to boost your weight loss.
